Who we are

Rainbow Junction is an inclusive story-world, creative project, and growing community rooted in imagination, belonging and lived experience.

Through stories, play-based resources, and community connections, Rainbow Junction supports children of all abilities as they build life skills, relationships, and confidence together.

At it’s heart, Rainbow Junction is about making space - for different ways of moving, communicating, learning, and being - and showing children that they belong exactly as they are.

Junction Values

These values guide every story, resource, and collaboration we create

  • Belonging comes first.

  • There is more than one good way.

  • Disability and neurodiversity are part of everyday life.

  • Play is powerful

  • Stories should feel honest and respectful.

About Bo

Bo is a blue-footed booby who uses a wheelchair and an AAC device - and he’s at the heart of Rainbow Junction.

Through Bo and his friends, children see that there are many ways to communicate, participate, and belong. Bo’s stories don’t focus on what’s “different” about him, but on everyday moments - friendships, challenges, play, and learning life skills alongside others.

Bo helps children recognize themselves, and helps adults see what inclusion can look like in real life.

About the Founder

Rainbow Junction was created by Angie Butt, a parent, advocate, and storyteller.

As a parent to a child with disabilities, Angie has spent years navigating therapy spaces, schools, and community programs - often noticing the gap between what families needed and what was available. Rainbow Junction grew from that space: a desire to create stories and resources where disability and neurodiversity are represented naturally, without being framed as problems to solve.

Angie’s work brings together lived experience, inclusive design, and creative storytelling to support children, caregivers, educators, and therapists alike - with a focus on dignity, connection, and belonging.

Rooted in lived experience. Built for community.
